Delete All Emails from Gmail Account using a Web Browser


  1. Sign in to your Gmail account.
  2. Select one of the categories from the tabs above the first email, for example, Socials, Primary, Promotions, etc.
  3. Click on the tick box to the left of the refresh button and under the “Search mail” bar. This will select all the mails.
  4. Click on the message that says “Select all <number of mails in that category> conversations in <category name>”.
  5. Select the trash icon from among the icons under the “Search mail” bar.
  6. Click on “OK” when the “Confirm bulk action” dialog box pops up.
  7. Repeat the process for each of the categories.

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal bars on the top left.
  3. Select one of the categories, for example, Socials, Primary, Promotions, etc.
  4. Press and hold the email that you want to delete. This will select the message.
  5. Select all the emails one by one in a similar manner.
  6. Tap on the trash icon from the icons on the top.
  7. Repeat the process for each of the categories.

Delete All Emails from Gmail Account on iOS


  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Select one of the categories, for example, Socials, Primary, Promotions, etc.
  3. Tap on “Edit” on the top right.
  4. Choose the “Select All” option from the top left.
  5. Select “Trash” from the bottom right.
  6. Repeat the process for each of the categories.

NOTE: The deleted emails go directly to the Trash folder after you have deleted them from the Primary, Socials, or Promotions folder. These mails remain stored in the Trash folder for 30 days after which they get permanently deleted by Google. However, you can speed up the process by deleting all the emails from the Trash folder manually using the same steps as mentioned above for other categories like Primary, Promotions, etc.
